Purchasing duty free jewellery from Marc Bendall is a smooth and secure process:

Provide your passport information and international flight itinerary. To qualify, you must be departing New Zealand on an international flight within 30 days of purchase.Payment and Preparation
Once confirmed, you pay the duty free price — excluding GST. Your jewellery is prepared for secure handover and packaged for collection.Collect at the Airport
Your item will be available for pick-up after security at your nominated international airport (typically Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch). Identification will be required upon collection.
Who Is Eligible?
To purchase jewellery duty free in New Zealand, you must meet the following criteria:
Be travelling internationally — departing from New Zealand on an international flight.
Provide valid travel documentation — including your passport and airline ticket.
Collect the item at the airport — after passing through customs and security, before your outbound flight.
Please note: GST exemption applies only if the goods are exported — meaning they must be collected airside (after security) and cannot be worn or delivered within New Zealand.
Is It Legal? (Yes — and Regulated)
Yes, duty free jewellery purchases are legal in New Zealand under specific conditions:
The sale is zero-rated for GST under NZ tax law, as long as the goods are physically exported by the buyer (i.e., taken overseas).
The jewellery must not be handed over in-store or shipped to a New Zealand address.
Collection must be at the international terminal, arranged through an authorised duty free collection agent.
